Prior to COVID-19, Logan City in Queensland, Australia was home to a number of galleries, museums and historical venues that showcased both local and international art and heritage. Among the prominent venues were:
1. Logan Art Gallery
Logan Art Gallery is an exhibition space located in Logan Central that presents an annually changing program of exhibitions. The Gallery also houses a vibrant artist-in-residence program which attracts local and national artists to interact and share their class ideas and works. The Gallery focuses on presenting interpretive exhibitions that examine various themes and trends in contemporary art. It is open Tuesday to Saturday, and admission is free.

2. Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum
The Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum is a unique site that showcases the history of Beenleigh and surrounding areas in Queensland. Visitors can explore 20 heritage buildings, wander through the gardens and admire the many historical items including horse-drawn vehicles, a blacksmith shop, a school, and a collection of old machinery. The museum is open seven days a week, and admission fees apply.

3. Logan Village Museum
Located in the Logan Historical Village, the Logan Village Museum is focused on preserving local history through the collection and display of historical artefacts and stories of the Logan community. The museum houses a wide range of exhibits, including old farm equipment and tractors, vintage cars, horse-drawn vehicles, and a blacksmith shop. The museum also offers interactive displays for children, and guided tours of the premises. It is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, from 9 am to 3 pm. Admission fees apply.

4. Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway
The Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway is an opportunity for visitors to step back in time and take a journey through the scenic countryside of the Logan region on a restored steam train. The train runs on Sunday afternoons and features scenic routes passing through farmland and down the banks of the Logan River. Visitors can relax in the 100-year old carriages that were originally part of the Brisbane suburban railway network. Bookings are essential.

5. Mayes Cottage Museum
Mayes Cottage Museum is a charming and unique museum that displays the lifestyle and culture of the early settlers of Logan City. The museum is located in Kingston, a little house that was once home to the early pioneer, William Mayes. The house has been restored in its original style and contains a collection of artefacts and memorabilia from the 1800s. The museum is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 1 pm, and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. Entry fees apply.

6. Kingston Butter Factory
The Kingston Butter Factory is an iconic building located in Kingston that has been converted into an art centre. The Butter Factory was once a diary that is now a unique venue that showcases various innovative exhibitions throughout the year.
